Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a member to attend?
No! Non-members are welcome to walk in any Saturday and pay a R50 gate fee at the door. If you enjoy the session, you can sign up for a membership from R100/month.
How do I join?
Email us at info@africanchesslounge.org or visit us any Saturday at Curro Durbanville Primary between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
What should I bring?
Just bring yourself and your love for chess! We provide boards, pieces, and clocks. However, you're welcome to bring your own equipment.
Is it suitable for beginners?
Absolutely! We welcome players of all levels. Our coaches and experienced members are happy to help beginners learn and improve.
How often do you meet?
We meet every Saturday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Chess Classrooms in Curro Durbanville Primary.
What is the cost of membership?
Monthly is R100/month. Six-month is R540 (save R60). Annual is R960 (save R240). Family membership for up to 3 members is R1,920/year.
