African Chess Lounge finished the West Coast Open, held from 9–11 October 2026 in Malmesbury, with five section wins and nine top-three finishes across the standard and rapid events.
Our players won the Prestige, standard U10 and standard U8 sections, as well as the Rapid Open and combined U8/U10 rapid section. The weekend included a perfect 5/5 in standard U8 and a comeback from an opening loss to five consecutive wins in Prestige.
Congratulations to everyone who represented ACL in Malmesbury. Every game gives us something to review and learn from, whether it ends in a win, a draw or a loss.
