Commonly cited benefits of chess

Chess comes with various kinds of benefits, but I thought today we cover the most cited ones.

Cognitive abilities, such as attention, memory, and logical thinking; are essential skills for the development of the individual

Critical thinking, improving the ability to assess strengths and weaknesses, establish value judgments and make decisions.

Improvements in literacy.

Increased creativity, through problem-solving.

Ethical sense. Improvements in attitude and general behavior

Better results in mathematics.

Research in Armenia (2014) showed the difference in creativity between children

in four grades - the three younger ones

had been in the chess program, the

older ones had not.
